Police in Philadelphia will be using lapel-mounted body cameras as part of a pilot program for police accountability.

As of Monday, as many as 31 officers will be testing out the body cameras, according to MyFoxPhilly.com.

Across the country, about 50,000 body cameras will be funded after President Obama’s $75 million policing initiative.

The move comes in the wake of public outcry after the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and after the head of the force joined a presidential task force focused on improving modern law enforcement.
