Tyler Perry is bringing Madea into the world of animation in Madea’s Tough Love. The DVD (and On Demand) release is set for January 20, 2015.

The ever-hilarious Madea, Uncle Joe and Aunt Bam are back with more shenanigans, this time in the name of saving a youth center. BlackNews.com gives us a breakdown of Madea’s latest adventure:

After a hilarious run-in with the law, Madea is sentenced to community service. Determined to do good for the ‘hood, Madea enlists Aunt Bam and Uncle Joe to try and save the Moms Mabley Youth Center from being shut down. With her irresistible sass and wisdom, Madea rallies the local kids to make a stand — and proves that behind her tough exterior is a whole lot of love!

Anne Parducci, Lionsgate EVP of Marketing and Family Entertainment, said of the release, “Given the tremendous success and appeal of his beloved character Madea across screen and plays for the past 15 years, we know fans and families will love to watch and laugh with Madea in her first animated movie.”

Madea’s Tough Love features the voice talents of Tyler Perry as “Madea” and “Uncle Joe” among others and Cassi Davis as “Aunt Bam.” Rolonda Watts, Avery Kidd Waddell, William “Bootsy” Collins and Cree Summer also star. The DVD release will include behind-the-scenes features and sketch-by-sketch storyboards. A sneak peek of the new movie is included on the Madea Christmas DVD and bluray release.
