A 10-year-old in New Jersey fell to his death from the window of a classroom on the second floor. His death is being investigated as a possible suicide.

The boy had gotten into an argument with a classmate over a game of chess. Later, he passed another student a note, opened the window and jumped. While sources have not described the note as a suicide note, suicide is still being investigated as a possibility.

Witness say the boy may still have been conscious after he hit the concrete.

“I saw him moving, wearing trousers, I saw him moving his legs, and his hands, and they were attending to him,” Elmer Pascia told ABC7. “When I looked, there was a lady in the window, like you know, talking to the people down below frantically.”

Although the boy was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, he died of his injuries.
