President Obama reads mean tweets about himself on Jimmy Kimmel

During Thursday night’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, President Obama got to read some mean tweets about himself during Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” segment.

The president took the whole thing in good humor, reading aloud the mean tweets and even cracking jokes about a few of them.

“Is there any way we could fly Obama to some golf course halfway around the world and just leave him there?” @RWSurferGirl said, to which the president responded, “I think that’s a great idea.”

“How do you make Obama’s eyes light up? Shine a flashlight in his ears,” read another tweet. Obama chuckled, looked at the camera, and said, “That’s pretty good.”

When another tweet made fun of the president’s much-derided high-rise jeans, Kimmel himself interrupted the segment to defend the president’s fashion choices — wearing those very jeans. He went in to high-five the president for their matching fashion choices … but Obama looked him over, sighed, and said, “Jimmy, I think they’ve got a point.”

The president seemed to enjoy himself and took the “mean tweets” in stride, noting that he often heard much worse from actual elected officials. “You should see what the Senate says about me,” Obama quipped after the segment.
