One Miami family is demanding action from the school district and from police after their daughter was attacked by several other middle school girls.

The fight, captured on cell phone video, took place just a few feet away from school grounds. Fourteen-year-old Angelina Padron was punched by a girl in pink shorts, and when she tried to fight back, the girl’s friends jumped in. Padron was kicked, punched, and dragged by her hair.

Padron and her mother immediately reported the fight to Miami-Dade School Police and pressed charges. The girls were suspended, but so was Padron.

“The principal actually suspended her, saying she participated,” a male relative of Padron told CBS Miami. “She should’ve got on the ground and balled up in a ball. When she was on the ground they were kicking her in the head and stomping on her.”

Watch a report on the brawl below:

“The girls didn’t even get kicked out of school. They’re still in school when they said they would kick them out,” the unidentified relative added.

What’s more, one of the mothers of a girl involved in the fight repeatedly threatened Padron’s mother. Padron’s mother captured video footage of one of the threats in which the mother told her not to press charges against her daughter. Police say an arrest of the mother is pending.

One month later, Padron’s home was attacked.

“They went over there, they broke the windows, they tried to pry the window open. The police have been called multiple times,” said Padron’s relative.

Despite calling the police, pressing charges, and demanding that the school remove the girls who attacked Padron, the family feels that not enough has been done.

Now, the family is trying to save up money to move and get away from this dangerous situation. The family set up a GoFundMe page, and you can donate here.
