It’s no secret: President Barack Obama is a huge fan of the HBO show ‘The Wire.’

Thursday, the president had an opportunity to interview the show’s creator, David Simon, in a candid conversation about TV, drug policy and law enforcement.

“I think it’s one of the greatest not just television shows but pieces of art in the last couple of decades,” Obama says to kick the ‘conversation’ off.

Simon begins to explain the show’s inspiration, stemming from his more than a decade of experience covering the city beat as a reporter for the Baltimore Sun.
