'Blood, Sweat & Heels' star Geneva Thomas talks being painted as a 'villain'

theGRIO REPORT - 'Blood, Sweat & Heels' star Geneva Thomas opens up about how she's been portrayed in the media....

Bravo’s Blood, Sweat & Heels is officially back for a second season of friendship, drama, and professional ups and downs in the city that never sleeps.

Geneva Thomas, best known for her outspoken demeanor and savvy sense of style, spoke to theGrio about season 2 of Blood, Sweat & Heels and also opened up about how she’s been portrayed in the media over the past year.

“I’m a part of the media community, so I think for me it’s very strange to see yourself in the press, because I’m the one that’s creating the press,” the managing director of the 1530 Agency said. “I don’t think a lot of the reports have been accurately reported. I don’t think that things are given the context that it deserves.”

“As a journalist, I have a lot of respect for the work that we do as journalists, and I’ve worked hard and I’ve earned degrees in that field. I have a lot of respect for that industry. I have seen reports that I have been shocked to see. No one reached out to me for a quote…. No one asked for context or contacted my team or my publicist. I do think some of the things have been extremely sensationalized and reaching, and a bit inaccurate.”

Blood, Sweat & Heels newcomer Chantelle Fraser discussed her relationship with Geneva and says she is in no way “the villain” of the show.

“I don’t think she’s a villain. You’re gonna see so many different sides of Geneva. I think the trailer and the press unfairly depict her, and throughout the show, you see Geneva go through a range of emotions. You see so many different sides of her, and I’m just excited because I think the audience is gonna get to see that side of Geneva, and they’re gonna be really happy and amazed by how dynamic her personality is.”

Tune in for episode 2 of Blood, Sweat & Heels Sunday at 9/8c.
