Woman claims apartment management used racial slur online, in response to bad reviews

theGRIO REPORT - Woman claims apartment management used racial slur online, in response to bad reviews...

Thurmeka Muller wasn’t getting along with her apartment managers, so she wrote a bad review.

But she said that review was no excuse for the racial slur that was thrown back at her in response.

Muller’s problems with her apartment building started with her tub.

“It’s years and years of grime,” Muller told WFAA-TV. “Just caked on there. And all I wanted was my tub fixed,” she said. “[It] Was supposed to be [clean] when I moved in.”‘

After waiting since August for the tub to be fixed, Muller was fed up and took to the apartment complex’s Facebook page to post her bad review. “I just went on there and did the review so that everyone else wouldn’t fall for it,” Muller said.

There was a little back and forth between Muller and the Timberlodge Facebook account before she got a message that definitely crossed the line, calling her the N-word.

“And that’s when they went on with the racial slur. All capital letters. And right there on the post,” Muller said. “I feel insulted. Degraded. I feel embarrassed. Not cool. At all.”

Bridge Property Management has said that the account was hacked and that it is looking into the incident: “We are working with Facebook, our vendor and, if appropriate, legal authorities to determine the circumstances surround this situation. We intend to cooperate to the fullest extent with any police investigation into this matter.”

However, Muller doesn’t believe the story that the account was hacked and is considering getting herself a lawyer and filing a housing discrimination suit.
