In 1978, Nina Simone covered Randy Newman’s “Baltimore,” calling attention to the Baltimore riots of 1968. Today, Jazmine Sullivan is breathing life into the late Jazz singer’s reggae version of the song.

“Baltimore” will be featured in the upcoming Netflix documentary, What Happened, Miss Simone?

A Nina Simone tribute album featuring Common, Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill and Sullivan will coincide with the Netflix documentary.
