A woman from Laurel, Mississippi, lost her job after she posted on Facebook celebrating the murder of two police officers.
Sierra McCurdy was apparently pleased about the news over the weekend that two Hattiesburg police officers had been murdered.
She posted about the event on her Facebook page, saying, “2 police officers was shot in hattiesburg tonight. GOT EM.” She added laughing emojis and gun emojis to the post.
The post led to outcry against McCurdy and then against Subway, as McCurdy was seen in other posts wearing her work uniform for the franchise.
Subway then quickly fired McCurdy and released a statement saying, “This kind of behavior is unacceptable and does not represent the values and ethics of our brand.”
