Everybody needs a good cuddle every now and then, and one new Maryland business is setting out to make sure you always have a cuddler to turn to!
Rob Andrews, his wife Tiffany and a business partner want to open a store called Tender Embrace designed to allow patrons to cuddle with a stranger for as little as $40. Rob says the idea came to him after he and his wife struggled with being apart while he was serving with the military.
In addition to a regular cuddle, customers can get a Double Cuddle for $120 or an Overnight Cuddle for $500. There is also an Entertainment Cuddle that includes snacks, drinks and either video games or a movie.
Tender Embrace is marketed as safe, platonic and therapeutic and includes on its websites the bios of all of its cuddlers. In order to maintain the safety and platonic nature of the cuddle, the cuddler may request a change in position should a “natural reaction” occur, according to the company’s Frequently Asked Questions page.
The company also asks that anyone arriving for a cuddle arrive having recently showered, with relatively good breath and without perfume or cologne.
