According to a store employee, the group came from “the south side” and had intended to storm the Wal-Mart to see just how much damage they could cause.

“This is the first I’ve ever even heard of anything like this occurring in Macon in all my years of law enforcement,” said Bibb County Public Information Officer Lieutenant Randy Gonzalez.

An officer also said that the crowd could be seen on surveillance pulling a man out of his electric wheelchair, and an officer who arrived on the scene said that the crowd scattered and left in several different vehicles upon police arrival.

According to the store manager, the damages have been estimated at $2,000.
