theGRIO REPORT - Two young women jumped to safety from a burning building on Tuesday.

Two young women jumped to safety from a burning building on Tuesday.

The fire, which took place at Morgan’s Landing Apartments in Sandy Springs, Georgia, left 29 people without a home.

When 11Alive arrived to cover the fire, a young woman on the third floor had smashed the glass of a window and was calling for help.

“I heard someone banging on the window — you could see the window all broken, so we just ran over there and helped them out,” said Deigo Silva, one of the neighbors who rushed to aid the woman.

Two neighbors coaxed the young woman at the window to jump down to them, and a second young girl followed her.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire as the Red Cross tends to those who were displaced by the blaze.
