It was a boxing match on the streets of Harlem.

The New York Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating an incident involving an officer and a man which quickly escalated into a fist fight.

Saykou George and his friend Jun Ice were heading home Thursday when George was stopped. He was reportedly suspected of having a knife “clipped to his pants pocket,” according to WABC.

George is shown on video reaching into his wallet and handing the officer his ID. Ice began recording the incident on his cell phone.

The officer then appears to put George’s ID in his pocket.

Watch a full news report on the altercation below:

When the officer did not return George’s ID, George says “Ya’ll can’t do that to me. Ya’ll cannot do that to me.”

George later says, “Ya’ll not arresting me for nothing.”

The officer continues to block George from walking away.

Then things get physical. At one point George pushes the officer’s hands away from him and the officer connects to George’s head with a right hook.

Ice uploaded the roughly eight-minute video to Facebook and it has amassed nearly 2 million views since Wednesday.

New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton told reporters he reviewed the video.

“My preliminary review, I saw nothing inappropriate with the officers’ behavior.” Bratton said. “We will look at the partner, what she was doing during this process, and the responding officers as we always do.”

George faces multiple charges of resisting arrest and possession of a knife worn outside of clothing.
