theGRIO REPORT - Netflix is set to release the highly anticipated first-ever Chris Tucker's stand-up special, Chris Tucker Live this Friday.

Netflix is set to release the highly anticipated, first-ever Chris Tucker stand-up special Chris Tucker Live this Friday.

The first look — featuring the madcap impressions Tucker became famous for — has been officially released via Youtube.

“Before people started seeing me in movies, I was doing standup,” Tucker said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “It’s always been a part of me, and now I’m excited to share it with my fans around the world.”

The special comes on the heels of a pending lawsuit from comedian Terry Hodges, who filed a lawsuit against Tucker alleging he hadn’t been compensated for years of work on the project, reports TMZ.

Tucker’s attorney, Marty Singer, claimed in a statement to TMZ that, “This lawsuit is absurd and completely without merit. We fully expect this case to be thrown out by the court.”

The special is set for release on July 10.
