The bronze statue of Bill Cosby that stands in Disney’s Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza is being taken down after recently revealed court documents proved that Cosby admitted to obtaining drugs in order to give them to young women he wanted to have sex with.

The move to take the statue down started with a petition by Orlando resident Brittany Gavrilova, whose aunt was one of Cosby’s alleged victims.

On her Facebook page, she wrote: “Documents have been released with admission by Cosby to have given drugs to women for sex. He is no Hollywood hero, he is a hypocrite and a monster. Any good he has done for the black community, the youth of America, the business of motion pictures and television is voided by the fact that while “changing America” he was secretly, viciously, ravaging women while they were vulnerable. I want the statue removed so that our children and children’s children will not keep this pathetic excuse of a man on this pedestal, or anyone anywhere for the rest of time. He is no Disney hero, he is a real-life villain.”

Since the unveiling of the damning court papers from 2005, many of Cosby’s supporters have turned their backs on him. Disney joins a growing mass exodus of fans and companies who have chosen to distance themselves from the comedian.
