Raven-Symoné attempted to equate the plight of gay Americans to that of blacks during the Civil Rights Movement during Tuesday’s segment on The View.

Symoné and guest co-host Candace Cameron Bure (Full House) were discussing the details of an Oregon bakery which recently refused business to a lesbian couple.

Symoné tried to break it down:

The Oregon law bars businesses from discriminating sexual orientation, disability, race, age, or religion – and to me its the same thing they did back in the day saying black people couldn’t do certain things because it’s their religious belief.

But DJ Tanner wasn’t having it. She said Symoné’s analysis was off.

“I think you are comparing apples to oranges, this isn’t discrimination at all,” she said. “This is about freedom of association, and constitutional rights. This is about first amendments rights.”

Ok, Raven, we see you. Stand up for the struggle, girl.
