Michael Brown’s father calls art exhibit ‘honoring’ son ‘disgusting’

An art exhibit in Chicago depicting a life-sized imitation of the scene of Brown’s death has been called “disgusting” by  Michael Brown’s father.

“I really, really would like for them to take that away,” said Michael Brown Sr. “I think it’s disturbing, disgusting … that picture is still in my head.”

“I have no problem with the person who created it, but I think they should have reached out to both sides of the family,” he continued, noting that he and Michael’s mother should have been contacted.

The artist, Ti-Rock Moore, is a white woman from New Orleans. She said that the exhibit was meant to show the damage that white privilege in America can do. The exhibit included not only a life-sized portrayal of the scene of Michael Brown’s fatal shooting but also a black Statue of Liberty and a noose dangling from a neon sign.
