Friday, a man caught in a surveillance video trying to rob a local business, turned himself in after seeing the footage of himself circulating online.

Trenton police Lt. Stephen Varn says Dwaine Whitaker is clearly visible in the clip trying to hold up a business at gunpoint on Tuesday.

According to reports, Whitaker received a call from a friend who recognized him on the footage released by police. After watching the video, he turned himself in to authorities.

Whitaker has been charged with armed robbery and weapons offenses.
