Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

When Erykah Badu saw the Black Eyed Peas’ new music video for “Yesterday,” she was quick to pick up on the similarities to her own video for “Honey.” So, she took to Facebook to point out the similarities in a calm, almost lighthearted manner.

“I think THE BLACK EYES PEAS borrowed my idea a Lil lol …I’m gone beat up Will I AM. I wrote and directed this joint. Won best director @ VMA’s.. So I understand, Pasha Shapiro.. Flattered. Cute video non the less,” she posted on Sunday along with links to both videos.

The videos certainly have the same basic setting, with the artists in small record stores that occasionally put out classic records.

What do you think, Grio fam? Is Erykah Badu right? Did the Black Eyed Peas “borrow” her music video?
