Splashed water.

That’s all it took to allegedly spark an explosive racial tirade.

Raquel Bolton was with her two kids at Oak Street Beach in Chicago when her children splashed water on a woman who was sitting nearby.

Bolton, who is black, attempted to apologize to the woman on her kid’s behalf but the woman was not pleased. That’s when Bolton began to repeatedly refer to her as a “N****r.”

The unidentified white woman continued, Bolton claims. In a video Bolton captured and later posted to Facebook, the woman can be heard implying that Bolton “didn’t graduate” and “didn’t know the Constitution.”

“That you can just walk around calling someone a N****r?” Bolton asked.

“Yes,” the white woman replied. “It’s called free speech in America. Right to free speech. Look it up.”

Watch a full report on the incident below:

“This woman’s yelling at them because she splashed water […],” Bolton told WBBM reportrer Mike Krauser. “I pulled out my camera and I videotaped the ignorance. And I shared it.”

Krauser said he was able to contact the woman in the video but she did not return his requests for comment.
