CBS is picking up a pilot for a TV series based on the 2001 movie Training Day.

The film starred Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. Washington earned an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as a crooked LA cop. Hawke played the role of a rookie officer, paired with Washington as his new partner.

According to Variety, the new show will take place in current day Los Angeles, with the storyline picking up 15 years after the film.

Fans of the film can rest assured that the TV series will still have the same feel, since Antoine Fuqua, who directed Training Day, is attached to the new series as a director and executive producer.
