Judge rejects Brittney Griner's annulment request, Glory Johnson responds

theGrio REPORT - Despite her best efforts, it appears WNBA star Brittney Griner is still married.

Despite her best efforts, it appears WNBA star Brittney Griner is still married.

In June, Griner filed for an annulment from fellow player Glory Johnson, a month after their nuptials and just a day after Johnson announced she was pregnant. However, on Wednesday, an Arizona judge rejected the request.

According to People, the court decision means Griner is the breadwinner in the relationship, since Johnson has taken a year off from the league to carry the couple’s twins.

The court found “no legal basis for annulment,” also stating that “the case shall proceed on the Petition for Dissolution of Marriage with Minor Children.”

Griner, who says she felt “pressured” into the marriage, maintained in her statement to PEOPLE: “I respect the judge’s decision. We are moving forward with the divorce on a 28-day marriage.”

In response to Griner’s allegations that Johnson “intentionally concealed her sexual relations with a man to whom she was simultaneously in a relationship from 2013 to July 2014,” Johnson posted a message on Instagram.

The caption reads, “Lying is done with words and also with silence. It’s not right to proclaim to The World that someone cheated on you, without having Legitimate Proof. I’m not that type of Person, never have been, never will be. #TrustIssues #SoThankful #Blessed #HonestyIsThePolicy.”
