Just hours after an ambulance took the 33-year-old Michael Robinson from jail, Robinson died early Sunday, and his family is now questioning whether or not he received proper care.

According to Robinson’s sister and fiancee, Robinson was arrested on Friday because of back child support, and he was transferred from Kennett to Caruthersville on Friday afternoon.

Robinson’s family said that he was a severe diabetic and that they were not sure when he received his last shot of insulin. He would have needed two shots a day, and the family has wondered whether or not Pemiscot County jailers properly administered to Robinson’s medical needs.

He was taken to the hospital late Saturday night but was declared dead early Sunday afternoon.

Robinson’s death is currently being investigated.
