Regina Sims worked for Milwaukee’s Department of Neighborhood Services (DNS) evicting people from drug houses. It was her job to know and identify the signs of such houses in neighborhoods.

Now, ironically, she has been arrested for running a drug house of her own.

Sims faces charges along with two others, 28-year-old Timothy Rawls of Milwaukee and Romero Ross of Milwaukee, for keeping the drug house. She faces two charges of possession with intent to distribute as well as a felony charges of keeping a drug house – party to a crime and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

The police searched the house early this month after a “citizen witness reported multiple instances of drug dealing going on at that residence for roughly one year.” Once police were inside, they found guns, ammunition, digital scales, baggies of marijuana and a sandwich bag with suspected heroin.

According to the complaint, “Sims denied any knowledge of drugs or drug dealing occurring at her house.” However, police insist that “Sims’ entire house smelled strongly of marijuana.”

If she is convicted, Sims could face $10,000 in fines and three and a half years in prison. Until the investigation is complete, Sims has been placed on administrative leave from DNS.
