Sanaa Lathan is headlining Fox’s new provocative project, a racially-motivated series following the events of a police shooting.

The show, which is still unnamed, follows the “dangerous aftermath” in the wake of a shooting in which an African-American cop killed a white teen in Tennessee.

Lathan’s character, who is investigating the case, will pair with a special prosecutor to ”navigate the media attention, public debate and the social unrest that comes with such a volatile case, as they seek justice before the divided town erupts in a race war.”

The project is especially timely, given the current debate raging around the country concerning the use of deadly force, police brutality and race relations in the Black Lives Matter movement.
