On Monday night, Tracy Morgan made his return to the world of stand-up comedy. The performance at Comedy Cellar in New York City marked the first time Morgan had been able to do such a show since the critical injuries he suffered during a car crash last year.

Morgan appeared on stage for the first time last month at the Emmy Awards, in which he presented the award for Best Drama Series. But last night was the first time the comedian was back to doing stand-up routines and doing the thing he loves: making people laugh.

“My first time on stage in 16 Months at the #ComedyCellar! Picking up the pieces!” Morgan tweeted about the event.

Morgan also released a photo in which he could be seen standing on the stage without assistance.

Continuing his comedy return, Morgan is set to host Saturday Night Live on October 17.
