Recently, Janet Jackson and her legal team caught some flack for taking down videos, and in some cases entire accounts, on Instagram that featured clips from her Unbreakable world tour. Now, the star is issuing an apology.

“I love and appreciate my fans,” she wrote on Twitter Wednesday. “I enjoy watching the short video clips . . . Please keep posting them.”

She continued, “My team is passionate about protecting the intellectual property we are creating . . . Permitting the use of long clips does present a contractual problem.”

In essence, Jackson is asking fans to only post “short recordings” and is trusting them to keep to that. In exchange, she says, “I have asked my team to change their approach and allow you to engage socially with these videos.”

Meanwhile, the Instagram accounts of users who had been deleted have since been reinstated.
