Prank goes wrong: Frightened man pulls gun on fake spider

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Clark White told his coworkers that he was “deathly afraid of spiders” and begged them not to put up any decorations of spiders this year for Halloween. But they didn’t listen.

So when White arrived at work and saw the fake spiders around the office, he whipped out his gun to defend himself, and now he has been suspended. The incident took place several weeks ago, but he was suspended Wednesday because many people were still upset.

“He said they had spiders everyplace and he said he told them it wasn’t funny, and he couldn’t stand them, and he did indeed get a gun out,” said Bennett to a local CBS affiliate. “It had no clip in it, of course they wouldn’t know that. I wouldn’t either if I looked at it, to tell you the truth.”

It’s hard to know who to shake our heads at: the guy who pulled an unloaded gun out to scare a toy spider or the mean coworkers who pulled out the toy spiders to scare the guy with a gun.
