Monday’s broadcast of The Steve Harvey Show featured Lorena Bobbitt, the aggrieved ex-wife of John Wayne Bobbitt, who famously cut off his penis in 1993.
Bobbitt appeared on the show to discuss her advocacy work for domestic violence awareness and prevention and also to share what life has been like since her unprecedented case made headlines.
Despite her upbeat take on things, during the segment, it became apparent that Harvey couldn’t get past her infamous crime of passion, at times visibly squirming in his seat as the audience giggled at his discomfort.
“How did he bring up the subject?” the talk show host inquired at one point, wondering if her current husband had any misgivings about her past.
“He never brings it up,” Bobbitt laughed in response.
Since her trial, Bobbitt has founded Lorena’s Red Wagon, an organization committed to domestic violence prevention and helping those who’ve suffered from it.
