Tracy Morgan has fought his way back to the stage, overcoming many obstacles to return to work after he was involved in a horrific car accident that left him seriously injured. The road to recovery may have been long, but Morgan said that it has changed his views on life itself.

“I remember this time last year I was in a wheelchair wondering if I was gonna walk again,” Morgan told Entertainment Tonight. “Now I’m doing a Footlocker commercial.”

He credited his 2-year-old daughter, Maven, with helping a lot in his recovery.

“She made me laugh a lot during my therapy,” Morgan recounted, smiling. “She loved daddy, and she made daddy laugh a lot.”

Of course, he also knew that his wife, Megan Wollover, had been hugely instrumental in helping him get through.

“She was my rock. [She] still is. She was right there telling me, ‘Don’t worry about it,'” he gushed. “All she kept saying was, ‘I love you,’ and, ‘Don’t worry about it, you’re gonna be better than ever.'”

Since the experience, Morgan said that his outlook on life has been forever changed.

“The things that worried me and that were important before, aren’t so important now,” Morgan said. “When you spend weeks in comas, then you hear and see things differently. I see life differently. I embrace it more.”
