Tamar Braxton released from hospital after leaving ‘DWTS’

A week after Tamar Braxton left Dancing with the Stars because of blood clots in her lungs, she was released from the hospital and is on her way to recovery, according to TMZ.

“I just got out,” she told TMZ on Tuesday as she left a CVS pharmacy. “I just dropped off my prescriptions. I’m so excited to be back.”

The R&B artist was forced to withdraw from the dancing competition last week after she managed to complete a dance during the live show but had to check in to the hospital after she finished the dance. She had rejoined the show after not feeling well earlier in the show, but because she thought she only had pneumonia, she decided to power through, dancing and earning a nearly perfect score, despite how poorly she was feeling. However, she then learned that she had a pulmonary embolism, and she had to drop out.

“I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia, but something way more serious,” Braxton wrote on Instagram explaining her withdrawal from the competition.
