‘Newborn’ photos of adopted 13-year-old go viral

Photographer Kelli Higgins sees plenty of newborn babies in her business, and she’s good at getting the right “look” for those sessions. But she didn’t have any baby pictures of her son, who was adopted at age 10.
One day in 2013, as Higgins was getting ready for yet another session of baby pictures for a client, her son, Latrell, pointed out that he was sad their family didn’t have similar pictures of him. And so Higgins decided to fix that.
Posing her now-13-year-old son in the typical newborn poses (curled up in a blanket, propped up on his hands) along with shots of his toes, Higgins gave her son the perfect newborn photo session.
