The Daily Show’s new host Trevor Noah is getting some backlash from his colleagues over his decision to book Chris Brown.

Tuesday, Chris Brown is scheduled to appear on the Comedy Central nightly talk show to discuss domestic violence. Given how open Noah has been in the past about living with an abusive stepfather who shot his mother in the face and threatened to kill him, the comic believes he is particularly qualified to cover the touchy subject with the R&B singer.

However, many show staffers disagree and have told The Daily Beast that Brown’s interview booking has become a cause for concern around the office.

The fear is that Noah, who tweeted four years ago, “Rihanna is cancelling shows due to poor sales. I guess he beat her again,” might be dangerously out of his league attempting to conduct such a tough one-on-one and may end up saying something in poor taste.

If you want to see the interview for yourself, check out The Daily Show, which airs tonight on Comedy Central at 11pm EST.
