On Thursday, Orange is the New Black Star Dascha Polanco appeared in court to face charges of assault after she allegedly punched a teenage girl.
The 17-year-old girl, Michelle Cardona, was allegedly punched, scratched, and had her hair pulled by Polanco.
“Ms. Cardona observed the defendant strike Ms. Cardona about the face and head with a closed fist at least three times, pull Ms. Cardona’s hair, and strike Ms. Cardona’s arms with the defendant’s hands and nails,” court documents read.
However, Polanco’s defence attorney, Gerald Lefcourt, says that the charges are nothing more than a money-grabbing ploy: “It’s a setup to try to get money and it was tape-recorded.”
