49ers QB shares poignant anti-Donald Trump message on Instagram

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick might be out of the game with a season-ending shoulder injury, but that doesn't mean he's staying out of the political game.

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick might be out of the game with a season-ending shoulder injury, but that doesn’t mean he’s staying out of the political game.

The quarterback posted a quote on Instagram with the phrase, “Food for thought.” The quote, which was attributed to retired Air Force Col. Tom Moe, said:

“You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims must register with the government, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says he’s going to round up all the Hispanic immigrants, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it’s OK to rough up black protesters, because you’re not one. And you might not care that Donald Trump wants to suppress journalists, because you’re not one.

“But think about this. If he keeps going and he actually becomes president, he might just get around to you, and you better hope that there’s someone left to help you.”

Kaepernick has not been quiet about his political beliefs and has often spoken out about discimination and about terrorism, campaigning for more understanding and less fear.

Like Kaepernick said, the post is certainly “food for thought,” as Donald Trump continues, inexplicably, to soar high in the polls.

Food for thought!
