A Bronx man who is accused of beating his 2-month-old son to death was allegedly upset that the child’s mother paid the baby more attention than she paid to him, according to the mother’s brother.

According to the NY Daily News, Danielle Whyte and Alexis Feliciano had been together for around three years when little Mason was born, and outwardly, it seemed like Feliciano was absolutely thrilled to be a father.

But Feliciano was frustrated by the responsibilities of having a baby, especially because Mason cried so much.

“He got frustrated and upset about the baby crying,” Whyte’s brother, Vhaun Whyte, told the Daily News. “They started getting in fights. He thought the baby was getting too much attention. He was mad that she was paying more attention to the baby than him.”

On the night of December 10, Feliciano went to check on the crying Mason, and Whyte heard him scream “Shut the f*ck up!” The shout was followed by loud bangs.

According to Whyte, Feliciano then returned to the room and said, “There’s something wrong with the baby.”

Whyte checked on Mason to see that he had bruises on his cheek and neck and that he was barely breathing. When she became concerned, this only enraged Feliciano more. “F–k it. Baby’s gone,” he said, according to sources. “If you’re going to become a liability, I’m going to kill you, too.”

They drove to the woods upstate, where Feliciano hid the baby’s body. He had also planned to kill Whyte and leave her there, but he knew that her body would be more easily identified than the baby’s.

Whyte ran away from the apartment they were sharing a few days later and tried to kill herself by swallowing pills. That’s when her brother was called, and he heard the whole story.

Although his sister will face no charges in the coverup of the murder, Vhaun Whyte said that she is devastated.

“She’s broken up. We have a small family. It’s just me, my mom and my sister.”

Vhaun said that he wished he had seen the violent turn their relationship had taken sooner.

“When I went over, it seemed like a regular relationship,” Vhaun said. “I didn’t see anything wrong. I wish I had.”
