Neighbors claim Louisiana inmates 'cat-call' women

Residents living near the newly completed New Orleans Parish are complaining that inmates regularly shout at and harass women as they pass by the open windows.

Folks living near the newly completed Orleans Parish Prison are complaining that inmates regularly shout at and harass women as they pass by the open windows.

According to WVUE, neighbors say that inmates regularly shout at passing woman and that their comments, which are at times incredibly crude and vulgar, and that their yells sometimes last well into the night.

“They stand in these windows screaming at people, cat-calling myself and other women, and at times are very vulgar about it,” one woman told WVUE.

One neighbor also said that his young daughters are subjected to the vulgar cat-calling regularly.

Neighbors have said that they took their complaints to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, though the sheriff’s office would only say that they are reviewing video provided to them by one of the neighbors.
