LaToya Jackson calls out Super Bowl for snubbing Janet Jackson in halftime montage

LaToya Jackson took to Twitter to call out the Super Bowl for not including Janet Jackson in their 50th celebration montage...

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

The Super Bowl 50 halftime show was nothing but stellar, featuring Coldplay, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars, but there was one thing missing from the halftime show montage that looked back on 50 years of halftime entertainment: Janet Jackson.

LaToya Jackson noticed the omission and called out the Super Bowl for not including a clip from her sister’s Super Bowl XXXVIII performance, which went down in history as the performance that inspired the term “wardrobe malfunction” to make it into our everyday vernacular.

LaToya Jackson said that the “energy” was “great” in the show, but she had one question: “But what happened to Janet Jackson in the montage!”

It’s especially glaring when you realize that the Janet Jackson performance was one of the most talked about in Super Bowl history, though considering its infamy, that might not be the best argument. The accidental reveal of Janet Jackson’s bare breast during the performance resulted in fines and lawsuits and even inspired the time delay in the broadcast of the Super Bowl, just so we could all be sure that an accident like that will never happen again.

Still, you didn’t have to show the wardrobe malfunction part of the performance, Super Bowl 50. Give us at least some Janet Jackson love!
