Ty Hunter has kept Beyoncé at the forefront of fashion for the past 15 years, pulling together some of her most memorable looks dating back to Crazy in Love and more recently her 2015 Met Gala gown.
Hunter is now embarking on a business of his own, with his latest style innovation, the Ty-Lite.
Produced by his company Passion Projects, the Ty-Lite is the only protective smartphone case on the market that has three lighting settings, ensuring everyone looks their “I Woke Up Like This” best in selfies.
Celebrities such as Kerry Washington, NeNe Leakes, Regina King, Solange Knowles and Michelle Williams have raced to Instagram posting their Ty-Lite selfies.
Hunter stopped by theGrio.com to talk about his new product and also discussed Beyoncé’s Super Bowl performance.
Queen Bey’s Black Panther-themed performance has led to some harsh reactions from some folks, including former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and other critics who may actually ‘boycott’ Bey’s performance next week at NFL headquarters in New York.
“What I got was the message is [about] you loving yourself,” Hunter said of Beyoncé’s halftime performance, which was styled by Hunter’s colleague, Marni Senofonte. “Loving who you are. I don’t think it’s a race thing. I ended up doing an interview earlier about it, and she wound up saying the same thing. It’s crazy how everything is the way that is now.”
Sunday, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live! Hunter confessed that he’s listened to Beyoncé upcoming album, describing it as “beyond amazing.”
Hunter tells theGrio.com that listening to Bey’s new tracks filled him with emotion.
“I would just say every sense of my being was touched. That’s how amazing it is,” Hunter said.
