In a video posted by The Daily Mail, Alison can be seen pleading with her sister for assistance. “Mariah, I love you, and I desperately need your help,” she says. “Please don’t abandon me like this.”

Alison is a recovering drug addict, and on top of that, she was a victim of a home invasion last April that left her severely ill and with brain damage.

In the face of the video, a rep for Mariah Carey has shot back against the claims that the singer is not helping her sister. “Through the years, Mariah has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting Alison and her children,” the rep said. “In fact, Mariah has supported her extended family for over two decades.”

However, her brother, Morgan Carey, disagrees.

“Because Mariah has not found it in her heart to help Alison get the care she requires, there are times when Alison forgets or is unable to take her medication and this sometimes precipitates problematic behavior,” he said. He then addressed Alison’s mental health: “Alison was institutionalized for observation after being found wandering in the street barefoot and partially undressed, causing the police to be concerned.”
