SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An official says a white Utah teacher violated school district policy by using a racially charged word in his junior high class.

Weber School District spokesman Nate Taggart says appropriate administrative action was taken against history teacher Douglas Barker. Further details were not provided on the action.
