“I was really, really surprised, like ‘Oh my gosh, how could you do this?’ For everyone to tune in and watch me have a baby, shocking,” Dome told Inside Edition. “I just had a baby it was a beautiful moment so I can’t be mad too long but he’s going to hear about it for the rest of his life.”

But what neither of them realized until it was too late was that the video was open to the public, meaning that not only was it the first birth to be livestreamed but also it was seen by strangers everywhere.

“I was pretty much shocked that I put it on live for everyone to see,” Kanongata said.

However, someone on Facebook recognized Kanongata from a domestic violence allegation in a past relationship. Child Protective Services then stepped in to remove the child from the couple until Kanongata could prove that their son, Ngangatulelei HeKelesi, is not in any danger.

“It’s really tough for me,” he said. “For both of us.”
