Akon says women don’t understand that men are “natural breeders”

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

During an interview about the BET Awards, things got interesting when Akon was asked to clarify his 2013 comments suggesting men were “natural breeders” who were “put on this earth to breed.”

When the hosts of Hollywood Today Live asked him if he still stood by those beliefs, he said yes.

“Absolutely,” said Akon.“Why is it that every woman in the world is going through the exact same problem with a man?”

“Just think about it. It’s not a coincidence, it’s just who we are. I always believed that if women took the time to understand men, you literally would run the world. The only reason why we’re more dominant is because we know more about women than women know about men.”

“Let’s think about it. [Men] are outnumbered 15 to 1,” he continued. “[Women] are clearly smarter than we are, and you execute a lot quicker and faster more than we do. So how is it that we run the world?”

He went on to say that male lions prowl the savannah for mates while female lions stay with the cubs. “She knows her role, the guy knows his role, and that’s their understanding,” he said.

The hit music producer was on the show to talk about winning BET’s 2016 Global Good Award for supporting youth and bringing solar-powered electricity to more than 600 million people in rural Africa.
