Neighbors admitted that Bufford and Betton had been arguing but did not think that it would end in murder. What’s more, there are conflicting reports about whether or not Bufford and Betton were still together, with some neighbors claiming that Bufford had not lived with Betton for some time an that the man who was shot was Betton’s boyfriend.

“They’ve been broken up for years so I don’t know why, why now he was coming to do this to them,” a woman, who asked not to be identified, told newsnet5.com.

After the shooting, Bufford led police on a chase that ended in an empty parking lot, where he shot himself.

During the chase, sources say Bufford was updating Bettons Facebook page allegedly saying “Never PLAY GAMES WITH SOMEONE (sic) EMOTIONS OR CHEAT ON THEM WHEN THEY GIVE YOU THEIR ALL, PLEASE RESPECT THEIR LOVE AND DEVOTION , SOMEONE WILL END UP HURT OR WORSE DEAD.”
