Olympian declares ‘black girls rock’ as she accepts gold medal

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Brianna Rollins and her her teammates Nia Ali and Kristi Castlin made Olympic history when they swept the podium for the women’s 100-meter hurdles.

As Rollins received her gold medal, the Olympian official who presented it to her leaned in and whispered, “Black girls rock.”

“Black girls rock, they do. Yes!” Rollins replied without hesitation.
