President Obama offers his personal doctor to help wounded Baton Rouge officer

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

President Barack Obama visited southern Louisiana following the horrific flooding that caused hundreds of families to lose their homes. While in the state, he made it a point to meet with the families of Alton Sterling and the Baton Rouge police officers who were shot in an ambush.

One of the officers, Nick Tullier, is still unconscious from the July 17th attack where he was shot in the head and in the stomach. Although unconscious, his doctors claim that his progress is nothing short of miraculous. Upon arrival, doctors gave Tullier 24 hours to live, then 48 hours, then they announced that his body would deteriorate after five days… none of that happened. In fact, Tullier had his breathing machine removed as his body continued to progress.

His parents have stayed by his side 24 hours a day since being admitted. They lost their home in the floods, but that wasn’t important to them juxtaposed against the life of their son.

When President Obama visited his parents, his father, James Tullier, expressed his concern about his son receiving proper care during rehabilitation. President Obama didn’t skip a beat; he immediately offered the assistance of his personal doctor. James made a Facebook post that was confirmed with a spokesperson from the White House stating:

“Obama’s doctor will talk with Nick’s doctors and then get back to me with their recommendations. Hopefully that works out.”
