White man fatally shoots black woman after they both survive car crash

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Saturday morning, another African-American was shot and killed by a white man.

Deborah Pearl, 53, worked at a Cleveland area Harley Davidson Diner and was on her way to work at 7:20 am when a man ran a red light and crashed into her car with his Jeep.

The man’s vehicle flipped repeatedly as her car was pushed into the intersection. That all sounds bad enough, but the horror did not stop there.

As Pearl exited her vehicle to see how much damage had been done, so did the man, Matthew Desha. Unfortunately for Pearl, he got out of his car with his high powered assault rifle. At that time, according to witnesses, Pearl put up her hands in a last ditch attempt to placate Desha.

It didn’t work, and witnesses claimed to have heard at least 12 shots fired. While police have not released how many times the woman was shot, she was left bleeding to death in the street.

Her devastated family members were called to the scene and were not even able to put into words what they were feeling at that point.

Desha was arrested near the scene, and on Monday, he was charged with the murder of Deborah Pearl. Police are not releasing a motive, though some details about Desha’s past have been revealed.

In June, he was arrested and charged with one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. When the police searched his car, they found a loaded 9 mm handgun and three more loaded magazines along with drug contraband.
