On Tuesday, during a Los Angeles stop on his Saint Pablo tour, Kanye West asked the crowd to sing for Kid Cudi.

Kid Cudi recently drew national attention when he announced that he was seeking help for depression and mental health issues, and his openness and willingness to talk about how struggles has sparked a nation-wide conversation about the stigma of mental health, especially at the intersection of black maleness.

“So Cudi, he in rehab right now, but he got a number one song on the radio and I want you to sing so he can hear it,” West says in a clip that was posted to Twitter.

As the crowd sings to hook to “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1″ in unison, West asks, “I want him to hear that. Cudi, you hear them?”

This tribute during his show comes just weeks after West called Kid Cudi “the most influential artist of the past 10 years” and called him his brother.
