Steve Harvey stages ‘Coming To America’ reunion for Halloween

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Steve Harvey’s love of Coming to America is on full display this Halloween.

For an upcoming episode of Harvey’s talk show, not only did Harvey come out in the full King Jaffe Joffer look, complete with a lion, but he also decorated the set to match the costume.

And he asked two of the movie’s stars to join him, dressed in their original costumes from the movie!

“We always go all out on Halloween on the show. I don’t really do scary things, I don’t like scary things, it’s not for me, so we decided to change it up this year,” Harvey explained while wearing his epic costume. “Here is our biggest and best yet, this is based on my favorite comedy film of all time, ‘Coming to America.'”

“I agreed to the theme because … I didn’t want to be Eddie [Murphy], all I wanted to be is daddy. I want to be King Joffer, James Earl Jones,” he added before he called out his special guests: Shari Headley and Vanessa Bell Calloway, the stars of the original film. Both women were fully decked out in their costumes from the original movie!
